What people ask us
How much does pest control cost?
It depends on the pest, the size of your home and how bad the problem is. In the U.S., a one-time treatment for common pests often runs from about $100 to $300. Termite work usually costs more. Prices vary by job, so ask the provider for a written quote before you agree to anything. That way you know what is included.
Are pest treatments safe for my kids and pets?
Many treatments can be used safely around families when the provider follows the product label. Still, it is fine to ask questions. Tell the provider about children, pets, and anyone with health concerns. Ask what products they plan to use, where they will go, and how long to stay out of treated rooms. A good provider will explain this in plain words.
What should I expect during the first visit?
The provider will usually look around the inside and outside of your home. They check the places pests like, such as basements, attics, kitchens and the foundation. Then they explain what they found and what they suggest. You should get a written quote. If something is unclear, ask. You can take your time before deciding on the next step.
How do I know if I have termites or just ants?
They can look alike. Termites often leave mud tubes on walls, soft or hollow-sounding wood, or small piles of wings near windows. Ants usually show up as trails across counters or floors. It is hard to be sure on your own. A provider can inspect the area and tell you what it is.
How quickly can someone come out?
It depends on the provider and the season. Many providers can respond quickly, but we cannot promise a set time. Request a callback to check provider availability, or send an estimate request and say how urgent it feels. Mention anything that worries you, such as pests near food or a nest in a wall.
Do older homes need special care?
Often, yes. Older houses can have stone or block foundations, damp basements, small gaps and past repairs that hide trouble. Pests can slip in through cracks you cannot see. Tell the provider how old your home is and what repairs were done. Older homes, extra care. It helps them look in the right places.
Can the same provider handle bed bugs, mice or wildlife?
Some providers handle many problems, and others focus on one. Bed bug treatment, rodent control and wildlife removal can need different methods. When you request an estimate, describe what you are seeing. We will try to connect you with a provider in our network who works on that kind of problem.
Will I have to sign up for anything after asking for an estimate?
No. Asking for an estimate is no obligation. You can read the written quote, compare it, ask questions, or say no thanks. Representseason Pest Control is a referral service, so the provider does the work, and you decide if you want to hire them. One calm next step at a time.
